Life's ironies
It's another monsoony day...wet, wet, wet! Wrapped my feet up in leather shoes though. Weatherman said it'll still be rainy in the coming days.I hope it ain't gonna be another wasted day. I refuse to see it as an omen that there was no electricity in the office when I got in. It's just one of those things that make the bad turn to worse.
Next week I'm starting the messageboard of DTI. Yeah...fun! I need a shot to activate my joy glands. Maybe we can talk about the DTI Secretary's reason why he is still single up to now. Or maybe ask why I am still in this project which has really drawn blood out of my bones. Well, if you want to talk about business, check out the Talkback section of the DTI website on Wednesday, 10am to 12nn. I cannot guarantee satisfaction though because topics on love and sex are out of the question. Give me a shot for my joy glands now!!!
Ah, yesterday I was toying with the new feature of Smart (my celfone network). Now I can send and receive Yahoo Instant Messenger messages in my celfone...Hurray! I'm thinking of reasons why I need this feature. Oh yes, I can save on international texting (there's the rub). And people get intrigued by the "I'm on SMS" status beside my ID.
Imagine how technology can really make you want things you've never wanted before. I never needed a celfone and a PDA before. Technology though has a way of making you see the need for these. I've mastered the art of justifying those needs. I'm undoing that skill though. Gadgetry are fast becoming expensive. For now, it will be a toss-up between killing trees for paper and spending extra on batteries and celfone subscriptions. Tough choice but I need the trees more for the future. I just hope I have enough cash stashed to enjoy the future.
Sigh. Life is indeed full of ironies. And yet we continue to live it up.
