Trick or Treat
Halloween brings new meaning to me as a mom now. It was a trip back to creativity land where my artistic talent is challenged once again.Having missed dressing up Reb in a costume last year, I made sure she had one this year...even if I didn't know yet where on earth there'll be Halloween festivities. Scouting for ready-made costumes made me say unprintable things so instead of swearing my head off, I got the cheapest princess costume I could find and decided to just jazz it up myself. It was back to walking around malls to find the suitable ornaments...and bwalah! I've turned Reb into a diwata!
It was fun doing the costume...and fun seeing her face light up as she finished dressing up. "Ang ganda ko 'no?" was the first thing she said when she saw what she was wearing...Ahhh, that made all my foot blisters melt.
It was even worth everything as I saw her enjoy herself trick-or-treating...and dancing to the people's delight. What makes me proud is not because she looked so cute in her costume...nor was it because she dances so cute...but because she makes so many people happy. That to me is such a blessing.
To me, it was a treat and not a trick...Reb is indeed such a treat. But she can do a mean trick on you if you're not careful!
