Kapihan till you drop
Yesterday was a marathon of meetings. I started the day by being late for a meeting (or so I thought). Turns out the group I was suppose to meet couldn't make it that day. Never mind. I was happy enough to just take a breather after sprinting (just an exaggeration) to the office to hopefully make it to that (aborted) meet. After an hour or so, it was time to prepare for my meeting with batchmates at KFC to devour great chicken and salad. Now that was the kind of meeting I prefer to attend. No pressures at all to listen (hahaha). The Media Comm had to discuss the website, the souvenir program and other media matters. Incidentally, I never caught a single word of the discussion, thanks to Kaye.It was a good meal combined with great company and even more fabulous were the stories (ghosts and all) and the decades old sulyaps that made us either cringe with shame or ROTFL. It was also then that I, a certified non-coffee drinker, had my first dose of caffeine for the month. Oi, it was caffeine to the bones indeed for me.
Whether it was the caffeine or the urge to stay for more kwentos (I suspect it's both), Frannie, Anne and I decided to move to another location. Hmp. Another coffee place--Seattles Best. Okay, never mind. It was there that I had not just my second cup of caffeine but two more cups of tea and some sustenance in the form of malnourished wafers and Frannie's favorite Cheetos.
It was a looooong night...long talks, long laughs...longing for food on my way home. That night reminded me of the email I got about girlfriends. There I was with my girlfriends...and it was worth every minute and every ounce of caffeine. It was indeed kapihan till you drop. The problem was, we didn't want to drop it. We wanted to go on and on and on...unfortunately there were only a few hours left that day.
